Outing

Today  I went to Ely and Wickham Fen as part of the camera club summer outing.

Ely Cathedral has a magnificent table on display, 14m long and made from a fossilised oak tree that was found 10 years ago. It is a beautiful piece of workmanship, having taken 10 years to complete (so far), the people who did it are still raising money for a platform for it to stand on, so it's not quite complete yet.

I had lunch at Peacock's Tea Rooms, recommended to me by dB Broadcast (who are based in the city) and I can thoroughly recommend them too. If you like a proper cup of tea (anything from builders through to Earl Grey variations, they have 2 pages of different teas in their menu, all loose leaf, not a bag in sight. How things should be. While I was down by the river, I saw this guy, moored up but pretending to steer!
