French Marigold.

I planted  a few Marigolds in the vegetable patch to try and ward off unwanted insect pests, but snails devoured the first planting. The next planting have survived, as plan B restricted the snail population considerably. 
(They went on a one way motoring holiday to join their relatives of last year.)
