Red-Belted Clearwing

This was a completely random little capture today - went for a wander round the garden mid afternoon to restock the bird tables and refill the bird baths - and sat down for a bit in the shade and this chap appeared next to me.  Asked on a facebook group what it was as I'd never seen one before and apparently it's a rare little moth to see so very happy to have had my camera to hand!

Temperatures feel a little hotter here today so time for more indoor jobs! Think the garden needs a good soaking this evening!!  Wonder if we'll ever see rain again?! Time to rain dance!
