Fighting the aliens

Himalayan Balsam bashing party this morning at Rydal Common, organised by Friends of the Lake District.  The good news is that we are definitely winning the battle, and plant numbers were way down from previous years.  It's a long-term war though, and will need smaller but regular work parties over the next few years.
A further work-out this afternoon when we went to friends to help bring their bales of hay into the barn.
