Locks and Bridges

We continued back in a Liverpool direction on the Leeds and Liverpool canal today. It was an early start as we needed to climb back up the Bingley 3 and 5 rise locks which opened for our direction of travel at 10am and last night’s stop was 2 hours from it. We made good time and arrived with 5 minutes to spare. The rest of the day was a gentle cruise covering canal we’ve already done in one direction but seeing the landscape from a different perspective! Along the way we’ve enjoyed plenty of animal life including cows in the canal and several Herons (see extra). Also added a view from the boat of Annie whilst in the 5 rise lock.
