...the garden bench this afternoon with Toffee who’s tested and throughly approves of her new cooling mat. Only 26 degrees today, let’s hope she uses it as eagerly on Monday when it’s 37 degrees...

While Toff was cooling off, finally found time to do some reading; finished one book and started another. For tea, and for the next three days, salad; I refuse to cook anything hot in a heatwave. This evening’s recipe, 
Pear, Walnut and Blue Cheese Salad, always takes me back to lunch at a pavement cafe on Île Saint-Louis, looking across to Notre Dame...
