Beer Goggles, Literally!, Aylesford

Today was our work summer drinks party (it's a bit complicated for us as our employers are not the place where we work) so we were allowed to leave two hours early to get there for the start time of 3.30. We had to meet the boss and get on to the tube to King's Cross and then onto my favouritely named tube station, Angel. It was then a quick walk to the party location, a pub with a rooftop terrace.
The weather was sunny and very warm so it was lovely to be outside rather than stuck in my dark studio at work. We all had to put on name badges (groan) and wear a garland but at least all the drinks and food were free. Also, it was great to see some of our colleagues from Catalogue Production (I don't think they call it that any more as most of our sales are now online), some of whom I hadn't seen since before the pandemic. Most of them now work from home, only occasionally coming into the office. One chap now works from home in Bristol (lucky bugger!) and says he absolutely loves it. Some of the others, though, said they liked some of the advantages but missed the human interaction and social aspect more than they thought they would.
It was a very enjoyable couple of hours but I knew after I'd had my third drink that I'd had enough. I can even be half way through a pint and just know instinctively I've reached my limit (that or I'm just a lightweight!).
I timed my journey perfectly on the way to catch my train home, even having time to get off a stop early on the tube and walk through Green Park down to Victoria.
Today's image is my brother wearing a plastic pair of beer goggles from the party and, for some reason, wearing the garland over his gob!
