Wound up in Wexford

Malin Head

Today we spent almost 3 hours in a little cafe in Letterkenny, drinking tea and coffee, and latterly enjoying some lunch, taking advantage of their WiFi to do house buying and selling admin.  And to book accommodation back in Galway.

Then we charged the car, and decided to do tourist stuff.  We headed north, hit the Wild Atlantic Way, and essentially followed it, though at one point I insisted on following a route even closer to the coast.  We stopped at various sight seeing points.  And we eventually made it to Malin Head car park.

By this time it was quite late, and W had had enough, but I went for a walk.  The information board wasn't hugely helpful in pointing out where the most northerly point was - I've had to resort to the internet for that information.  I actually walked in the wrong direction.  Oh well, it was a lovely walk, with lots of orchids and other wild flowers, and it really blew the cobwebs away.  The most northerly point of Ireland is actually somewhere just beyond the lookout tower you can see on the headland.

We will return, as proper tourists, able to take our time.

As it was, it was pretty much dark by the time we got back to our lodgings.  We very quickly went off to bed.
