A Conspiracy

There were actually six perched in the boxelder tree that overlooks our perennial bed but these four were most interesting. What could they be talking about? Are they looking for something? Could it be Cheetos? • One is grooming and seems to care less about what the other three are up to. Perhaps he’s the one in charge or, more likely, he’s the practical jokester of the group. My guess? He’s set the others up and is now quietly laughing his head off watching them search for something that isn’t there. You know there’s always one! • We visited the river this morning before doing groceries. Two blue herons were the treat of the day but both were too far away for the naked eye. MrsP spied on them through her binocs, and I my camera lens • Watering plants was a necessity again today because we received very little rain yesterday evening. The next ten days look hot and dry.
