Lettuce on the patio

I am amazed how this lettuce is growing out of the concrete on the patio. I have been wondering how it got there. I can only imagine that when, in the spring, I was sewing lettuce seeds in propagators on the veranda above, a few tiny seeds dropped and blew out of the window. Otherwise, it is a totally wild lettuce!

It has been too hot to do much today, again with temperatures around 34°. I went over to a friend's house in the morning to see their new collie puppy. I then went over to the hall that the painting group uses and collected easels ready for tomorrow's exhibition in the square.
