Superbloom
Backblip
I've just enjoyed a super couple of days in London, which was quite a culture shock after mostly staying in North Norfolk for the past couple of years. This (and the extra) are photos from the first day. I met up with friends M & D and we went to see 'Superbloom' at the Tower of London. The moat has been planted up with a naturalistic planting of flowers and plants loved by pollinators. This had been created to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee but the planting will stay as a natural habitat for wildlife. More information here:

I think perhaps that some of the flowers were a little past their best and I'm sure that the high temperatures and lack of rain have taken their toll but it was still an impressive sight. London recorded a temperature of 29 degrees that day but the moat seemed to be somewhat of a heat trap and we could feel the increased temperature as soon as we stepped down into it. A shady spot by the river and a cold bottle of water each afterwards soon revived us.
A big thank you to B for organising the tickets, it was such a shame that you weren't able to come along.
I'll post a photo from day 2 tomorrow.
