Great Burdock

which is certainly an exclamation used by some early 20th century British fictional heroine: 'great burdock Bigglesworth, your trousers are on fire!' 'No Mary, I'm just pleased to see you.'.

(It is perhaps not as well-known as it should be that Biggles didn't really do any of your actual flying as such: his friend Mary Sponsley did all that tedious shooting-down-jerries and flying-upside-down-under-bridges stuff while he lounged in his club sponging whisky and soda from people and making occasional passes at Mary, always rejected of course).
