Here's a demo on Edinburgh's Royal Mile today, heading for the Scottish Parliament. And here's the reason for the statement:

'An end to legal independent midwifery practice is an end to freedom and choice for women.'

Does that mean no more wise women with cats? Is it such a big deal? Are the midwives at local hospitals not good enough for the Mumsnet brigade?
