Alstroemeria

Another plant I have only ever known by its scientific name, I gather it is also known as Peruvian Lily and Lily of the Incas.

Thursday so it must be a blip from Kanyl's garden!  While I was there my main occupation was taking one of the camper's seats to pieces so that I could carry out a repair.  I ended up bringing it home with me to complete.

The blip is one of his Alstroemerias, a little past its best but very colourful.  As the common names suggest a native of South America which has become naturalised in many countries of the world.  Strangely the plant is named after a Swedish Baron Clas Alströmer.
