Oxalis Versicolor

Isn’t this fun. It appeared on a plant website with this description.

“Here’s some plant candy to sweeten up your style—it goes by the name of Oxalis versicolor, more commonly known as candy cane sorrel. This late summer treat flowers with candy-twist blooms so enchanting you could easily find them in a fairy tale. Forming a soft cushion of greenery, they come to life from late summer through to early winter with their topping of sweetie-shop flowers which unravel during the day, at which point they resemble little red and white spiralled lollipops!

One for a mild, coastal area, rockery or gravel garden, Oxalis versicolor loves to be in a free-draining, sandy or gritty soil and can tolerate temperatures down to around -5C. Oxalis is very low maintenance and doesn’t require much fuss. Given mild conditions, they’ll come back for a repeat show every year!”
