This unidentified wild flower is one from a packet of seeds Tess scattered under the bird feeder and which have flowered while we were away. Not sure what it is but it’s very pretty.

Dropped Sophie off at school this morning then came back to do a few jobs round town, tidy up the garden some more and spend an hour on the phone, sorting out car insurance for next year.

Our current provider, mentioning no names - but it turned into a bit of a saga, wanted to increase my premium by over £100, nearly 50%, and would only reduce it by £60 as a “loyalty bonus”, despite the fact that I told them that I had a much lower quote (from a company that isn’t Alcoholics Anonymous) so in the end I went for the lower quote and saved myself £140 on the original quote from my current lot.

I’m sure they were trying to compensate for the fact that I’ve been on a 3 year fixed price deal and were hoping I wouldn’t bother to shop around!
