Nudging along the pre-decoration experiments in the B&B lounge and dining room I removed more of the overbearing pelmetry thereby exposing about 25% more useful window. Many and various options are being mulled on as regards replacement curtains, blinds, etc.

More immediately, I'm looking at how/whether to get that bulky wooden battening off.

Post-blip note - removing said battening the following day exposes... another layer of wooden battening - albeit one that looks rather older, going by the size and style of the screws holding it up.
