Cooling Off

Today is a bit cooler than yesterday but still very hot. I had to wait for the gate repair man to come - yes now it was the actual gate that was not working properly, not the intercom system at the gate like last week. The gate repair man reckons the heat has slightly warped something so he had to adjust the settings to get the gates to close properly.

By the time he came and left, it was mid morning and quite hot for a walk. I chose a very shady part of the woods where there is a pond (with easy access) and so the walk was very pleasant. 

And so six become five - the race for the two candidates for Prime Minister is getting more interesting now, and each day someone will be eliminated until only two candidates are left. It's like a game show!

I am posting a bit earlier today as I am about to go to London, it's the summer function of the Skinners Company where the new Master is being sworn in. Gavin is a court member and so has to be there, I am joining him as his guest and Adam and Luke are apprentices so they are also attending the function. Its only 2 hours long so it won't be a late night. It is being held at Lambeth Palace which is quite a walk from the station so I may get a taxi as it is so hot.
