Saturated

This is higher up the catchment of the creek which yesterday appeared across the sheep paddock. At this point it’s a permanent waterway and you can see how large it became at some point 48 hours ago.

The area is saturated: all the grass is flattened and there is a thin layer of mud over everything.

But most importantly, the sun was out today :-)

Thank you for the walking shoe recommendations. I’m going to look at Merrells tomorrow in Oamaru. I’d love a pair of Meindl walking boots in due course. For that a trip to Christchurch will be needed. The immediate priority is the shoes.

Day 5 since I was exposed to Covid and I’m still feeling fine. I’m beginning to relax.
