Under the shade umbrella

I watered the garden early while it was reasonably cool then sat out in the garden for a good catch up on the phone with Beaches Doogie. I was in the garden for a few hours afterwards trying to catch up, so not much time for thinking about a blip. While I was sitting in the shade eating lunch, I looked up at the patterns on the umbrella and decided they would do for an EB. Whenever I'm out in the garden, the parents of the baby juncos perch on the fence or on a branch on the fig tree, chirping at me. I try to reassure them that I'm not dangerous and I stay as far away from the pot of thyme as possible, but I have to get fairly close to water other things that are close. G has heard the babies chirping! I'll be listening for them.
Got some things done inside as well.
Bonus from thinning the beets yesterday - baby beets! I cooked them and added a couple of onions and some roasted garlic scapes also from the garden, and G dressed them with oil and vinegar when he got home from golf. Looking forward to enjoying them!
