Shut the gate

We came across this old gate near my daughters house today. It had a few weeds overhanging it and when we pulled them back and looked at the sign it made us laugh. The gate hasn’t been shut for many a year. Perfect for an early offering for derelict Sunday. Hope you can read the sign … you can tell how old it is with the reference to 40 shillings.
