Greendykes Bing

Allow me to labour a point here...
This is not just big. It is huge, massive, humongous. The houses you see in front of it are not just in front, there is a fair distance between them and the bing still! It has been mentioned that this could be one of the biggest man-made structures (certainly by mass), but I am unable to confirm that at this point.

'Finished' in 1925, it is one of only a few remaining in the area, but is the biggest. Happily, we don't have the problems some other bings cause with the smell and smoke from them!

I now pass around the side of it on my way to and from work and I have found myself looking at it more and more, spotting the lines and slopes, as well as the tracks of the bikers. It is certainly very interesting. I'm going to take a walk up at some point soon to get a few pictures of the view.
