A warm welcome
When we first lived in the village, N used to meet friends in this pub for a lunch time drink every Saturday. He remembers how beer was 1/10 a pint. The welcome is still warm, but he doesn’t drink there any more. We sometimes go to the Thai restaurant at the back of the premises.
I was in the village to go to the library, the dry cleaners, the charity shop and to do some shopping. It was a lot of walking for me.
I had a peaceful afternoon playing Mahjong. There were just three of us as many of our friends are on holiday. I made up a big jug of a summer punch to keep us cool.
