Sisters

Drawings of my sister and me.  These were done in 1959 at a department store in Gateshead called Shepherds.  The man just spent a few minutes drawing each of us and my mam paid 2 shillings and 6 pence for each drawing.

I absolutely love them and they really do have a likeness to how we looked then.  I'm on the left and was 5 at the time and my sister 10.

I've been staying close to home as I'm having some problems with my Achiles tendon which has been very painful, probably brought on by lots of walking when were in Cheshire.  I have had this problem before so know what to do (supportive footwear, ice, heel arch, exercise etc.).  The worst pain is when I go up a hill which is unfortunate as I live on a hill.  It's not too bad if I'm in the house or walking on a flat surface.  It will settle down but is probably going to take a little while.  We are going to visit our son and his girlfriend in London in a few weeks so I am hoping it is better by then.
