Traigh Mheilein

On what is already a remote part of the world (Harris) Traigh Mheilein (you can just see the start of it on the right) must count as one of the remotest beaches. 12 miles along a rollercoaster of a one track road to Huisinis and then a mile and a half hike which climbs so high round a hillside at one point it looks and feels almost alpine. Worth it when you get there though, the most stunning beach looking out onto Scarp. (the island on the left). Today the colours in the water were amazing. When we hiked back to Huisinis I went swimming off the beach there. Freezing but energising!
