Rabbit and friend

I got a rabbit paper lampshade kit for Christmas which included a practise owl to get used to the precision needed for the cutting and glueing. I made the owl straightaway but it’s taken me this long to put aside the time to make the main sculpture. A hot day seemed like a good time to spend a few hours indoors to focus on it. And it did take a good few hours, with scoring the folds and applying the glue, and then trying to figure out how it all went together. The last bit was very fiddly but I managed to get the last bit to stick in the right place eventually. A bit of a disappointment when I put the lamp holder in and turned it on - you could see all the flaps that glued it together so it looks much better without the light inside! But I think they look good as a pair together anyway - just need to find a home for them.

Other than that, I got a few jobs done in the garden in the morning while it was cool and then avoided the heat!
