Golden clouds

A slightly longer walk this evening, round the side of Humbleton Hill and up  to St Cuthbert's Way, then back over Coldberry Hill. Phew, it was hot until the sun went down! We haven't spotted an adder this year despite reports of many sightings in the area, and MrM was hopeful of seeing one this evening, but no luck. Lots of oyster catchers (extra), curlews and lapwings up on the moors. As we walked down through the Common the sun was setting behind Humbleton Hill.

We had intended to call in to the local pub on the way home, but gave it a miss as  it was full to overflowing! Back home for a refreshing drink...
