Intensity

The intensity of the heat as we stepped out of the car at the services on the outskirts of Bologna this afternoon was as much as I think I've ever experienced, and I count Australia and South East Asia on my previous travels - I don't say this lightly.

Wowser!

So we left our place near Siena, went and visited Siena itself (which was as spectacular as I remember it from my previous visit as a teenager back in the mid-80s) and then came to our new place for the next five nights, nestled near Dozza in the Emilia-Romagna region. It feels great, think we'll be very happy here.

Some drinks and food and some backgammon for the evening's entertainment.
