Where once people lived

We know about the Clearances. Some people were cleared from their Highland homes to the Black Isle, Mrs Oons’ forebears among them. After they had laboured to improve the land they were cleared again. I don’t know who lived here, or the circumstances of their departure, but the symbolism haunts me every time I pass it.
