Speckled Wood

The Speckled Wood was one of four butterfly species that managed to get trapped in our conservatory this afternoon. The others were Comma, Red Admiral and Peacock. On my afternoon walk with the spaniel I saw several Purple Hairstreaks down at low level, bringing my species count for the year to 35.
