It’s all about people

As you know we love our cruises and particularly, Norwegian Cruise Line, and it’s primarily, because of the people.

Some of the destinations we visited on this cruise we have been to 5 or 6 times before , but that doesn’t matter, as it’s the ship and the amazing staff that draw us back.

The top photo’s shows us with Carina, the ship’s Maitre’d in charge of all the restaurants, and she was lovely. Martin mentioned that there was a shortage of custard on the ship on day 1, and for the rest of the cruise, no matter which restaurant we were in, custard style desserts would appear on our table without us asking for them … it was a hoot.

The bottom photo shows us with with Mo, our steward, who was absolutely lovely and such a hard worker. A lot of the staff on cruise ships are from the Philippines, Indonesia, India etc. and send money back to their families back home, which helps pay for education, medical cover etc. it really makes you think how lucky we are. It’s also a wonderful experience and honour to meet such people from countries from all over the world, both staff as well as fellow passengers.

Anyway, sitting in Frankfurt airport, wiling away the hours till our flight leaves for Edinburgh at 8.55pm.
