First fruits

I bought a strawberry plant for my balcony this Summer and I’ve been blind-nurturing it cheerily for the last month. Well I’ve got a massive crop of 4 ripe strawberries and I couldn’t be prouder. I think I’ve been waiting for some sort of ceremonial moment to remove them but I think I just better hurry up and eat them before the birds beat me to it.
