Cardiff
Like Liverpool last Saturday, Cardiff exceeded all our expectations today. Here we are in front of the Wales Millenium Centre. We're staying here just one night in the Voco St David's Hotel on the waterfront.
Very much the highlight of our stay for Orla was going to the Everyman cinema to watch Thor: Love and Thunder. We had dinner in Signor Valentino before the movie, a really good Italian restaurant on the waterfront. There was a great warm summer evening atmosphere when we came out of the cinema with the music playing from bars and the buzz of people eating al fresco. Sitting out later in the late warm evening on the hotel room balcony with a view of the waterfront was pretty awesome.
Here's a video of the Cardiff waterfront, Mermaid Quay.
It was about a 2 hour drive from Pembrokeshire to Cardiff this morning. We parked near Bute Park and had a picnic in the park. There was a 'Pretty Muddy' race going on whilst we were there and there was also a pop concert in the grounds of Cardiff Castle so a great atmosphere. We walked round the park and went into the National Museum of Cardiff for a while before heading to the hotel to relax for a while before heading out for the evening.
