Hanging basket on Kingston Bridge
This blip is of one of the many hanging baskets on the lampposts which are on either side of Kingston Bridge. I was walking across and looking at the boats of the rowing regatta which was about to start around 10am. Interesting to note that the conkers are already forming on the horse chestnut tree behind. I’m sure it’s earlier than usual. The leaves of the horse chestnuts in a road near us are already going brown and many are falling.
It was not at all busy in Kingston, very different from before the pandemic as I think so many people do lots of their shopping online . John Lewis was nearly deserted at 9.30am. Also many shops that I used to frequent have closed and are still empty.
Watched the tennis and disappointed that Ons Jabeur did not win.
A very warm day.
