Green Lake
…. at the top of the Col des Montets after I dropped dear Sue off with her daughter who is staying near Chamonix for a couple of weeks. I had never spotted this lake before and would not have done so if I hadn’t climbed above the Col for a while to get a better view. The lake was so green (probably full of something nasty!) but looked like an emerald from above. The reflections of the Aiguille Verte, the Dru and the Aiguille du Plan to the Aiguille de Midi were there. As Sue is staying for a longer time than she thought, I shall probably pop over to Chamonix to see her again before she returns to Wales with her daughter and family.
I shall try to do some catch up on journals very soon, thanks for all your support and lovely comments for Sue’s visit, such an emotional time sometimes as it is Sue’s first visit to the Alps since her husband died. They did so much climbing together here.
Have a good weekend everyone. The Tour de France goes past the end of our road tomorrow …. Sports photography coming up! They are currently going through Lausanne. Great to watch on TV and recognise places we know well.
