New building going up across the street from the Pearl Bakery.

It was fascinating not long ago to watch the wreckers knock down the previous occupant of this lot, the Technical Annex of Powell's City of Books. The new building is rising fast.

I couldn't resist the bright turquoise and yellow building materials, which will soon be covered by some kind of bland chichi condominium façade.

I also like the way the building seems to bulge and lean like an edifice by Hundertwasser.
