Bye Bye, Birdies

Backblip.
We were invited for lunch at friends. These newly hatched chicks were in a nest by their front door. They were exposed after a storm damaged the top of the bush.
Sadly, the nest was empty the next morning, probably raided by a Marder (marten). I guess they have to eat, too.
Our lunch was delicious, as always, and finished of by our hostess’s legendary nome made ice cream,. Now she is retired she is experimenting with different ingredients to make eggless ice cream. Well, we tried 6 different flavours including sorbets and yoghurt based. All wonderful.
