Worcester City 1/3

My hometown could support a successful football club. The only issues are a) the club it has isn't successful, and b) my hometown chooses not to support it, anyway.

In the last ten years or so Worcester decided, out of the blue, after a multimillionaire conveniently bought the local rugby club and turned it into a topflight concern, on the telly and everything, that it was more of a rugby town all along. Just as Ian Botham made it think it was a cricket town in the 80s.

The football club is over 100 years old. In 1959 we beat Liverpool in the FA Cup, and used to be one of the bigger non-league clubs until the 1980s.

Then it's like time stopped. The club has not gone up or down since 1983. There cannot be another club in the country outside eight or nine Premier League sides of which this is true.

As of June, thanks to pisspoor management, Worcester City will be homeless. I wonder how many people will care.
