We'd already decided that we'd have a lazy day - our first full one in Tuscany - but that turned into an even lazier one when the afternoon thunder and lightning came and we really didn't feel like going anywhere 'til it had stopped. After that us grown-ups ventured out for an hour in the car, bought some cakes, had an espresso and were suitably impressed by the scenery and landscape in general. Thanks to my plant recognition app I can happily report that these rather fetching trees are Italian stone pines, or does everyone know that and I'm just the botanical gnoramus?
