Muick-ing around

We headed over to Glen Muick this morning after our tasty and filling breakfast.

It was a lovely day and we walked round Loch Muick in an anti-clockwise direction. I really enjoyed the walk (even more so because we knew by that time that BJ would be resigning). We saw a dragonfly, butterflies, geese and red deer.

We then came back to our hotel. T had a nap and went out the gardens to read. At four we partook of afternoon  tea - which was rather tasty.

After a short rest we then headed up Craigendarroch, the hill which overlooks Ballater.  Walkhighlands desribes it as enjoyable but ardous little walk. It was.

A good day - think we will sleep well tonight.

Ballater is an interesting little town - quite different from Pitlochry with its grid system of streets and eclectic mix of shops. Enjoying spending some time here.
