Today's the day ...................... for a practice run

The Kirkcudbright Town Trails start again for the summer next week - and Will and I are leading the very first one on Tuesday evening.

We've forgotten most of the finer points (and all of the important dates!) since we did it last year.  So we were very glad to have a trial run this afternoon, with our friends as guinea pigs.  They were pretty well-behaved on the whole - not asking too many difficult questions and not getting distracted with other things.  At any rate, we must have looked pretty official - because at one point we were joined by a random member of the public?!

It made us feel much more relaxed about next Tuesday which I'm sure will be fine.  This is a view looking down to Kirkcudbright Harbour where the FV Mytilus (B449), a Dutch-built scallop dredger is moored up.  And behind is the '1926 ferro-concrete bridge over the River Dee which replaced a more graceful iron swing bridge constructed in 1868' ...............
