So...

Operation DAB started well but hit a snag. It seems that it needs a different cable (that costs a bazillion quid) because the existing radio has an amplifier and this needs to be bypassed. We've ordered the cable and we'll go again when it arrives. The extra cost is bonkers but (I'm assured) any replacement radio will need this cable so there is no way around it. The old radio is back in for now so at least I have some sounds.

On the way home I went to get some shopping including some Yarg as consolation. It was rather lovely driving around with the sun on me bonce so that was okay
