Abstract Thursday - Roses
Our rosebed is looking lovely at the moment so I thought it would make a good basis for today's AT challenge (thanks Ingeborg!).
It was very sunny so a "normal" ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) shot would have been tricky. This gave me the chance to try the "Live ND" effect built into my new camera - by combining multiple shots it can simulate a Neutral Density filter of 1 to 6 stops. I set it to 6 stops and moved the camera during the exposure, producing this effect straight out of camera with no fartnarkling necessary.
Now: The results of last Saturday's July Silly Saturday 300th challenge. Astute observers may have seen the results on the challenges page here for the last 2 days but so far I've been a bit too busy to include them on my blip journal, or to inform the "winners" directly. So here they are now anyway:
My Editor and I had a super time chuckling and giggling at all the entries – thanks so much to everyone who took part, it was a bumper month with 51 entries which was lovely – I’m sure Admirer would have been delighted! It certainly wasn’t easy to choose our hearts and HMs.
Anyway, after much deliberation here are our choices (in no particular order)
Hearts:
Seasidesusie: Some really silly photos from the Tarbert Seafood Festival
Pipersmom: She’s so hot in the sweltering weather in the Rocky Mountains that she actually caught fire!!
Libeccio: Nash the incredibly intellectual (and presumably longsuffering!) horse
KangaZu: Some very clever chipmunks selling lemonade at 300 cents for the 300th Silly Saturday
Shirleyray: Poor Gertie overdid the Mick Jagger lips lookalike
Honorary Mentions:
Madwill: Ey Up! A real Yorkshire cushion
Annie: Luna the dog enjoying ice cream – what a face!
Cor61: A brave husband having a Jurassic Encounter
Honeycombebeach: A very elaborate party organised for the 300th Silly Saturday celebration
Miranda1008: A rather spooky Green Man!
The next hosted Silly Saturday will be on August 6th, the tags will be SilSAug2022 or SilS305. If anyone would like to host in August (or any other month) please let me know in good time – either on my blip journal or email at davidcblipper@gmail.com.
