Summer Cascade

A clematis!
That sweet
unpretentious
smile as
we breezily chat.

The wheel of fate
has stopped on
a simple
quiet honest smile,
the clematis in bloom.

A pledge that 'tho
time's wheels turn
my heart is always
a sturdy steady rail,
the clematis through a fence.
