The lionesses training base

The England womens football team , who won their first match of the Euros competition last night, have their training base at the Lensbury where I am a member. 
It seems that they have taken over the Conference Centre which has lots of bedrooms plus other meeting rooms etc and a dining room area and lecture theatre. In the past Lensbury has hosted many rugby teams and did so for the last World Cup and also often teams playing at Twickenham or Harlequins stay there. However the English rugby team are now back at their training base at Pennyhill in Surrey ( I’m not sure why but during the COVID era they could not stay there so were at Lensbury).

So the rugby pitches have now been converted to football pitches and there is hoarding around them so that you can not watch while they are training. See extra. There is a separate heavy weights gym which the football players can use rather than the usual members gym.
There is also an area set up for ‘Lionesses Live’ which is an area where they record a daily video of some of the team which can then be seen on YouTube , TicToc etc. 

I took a friend there for coffee and as she is a keen football fan she was hoping to see some of the players! We think they must have been having a lie in after their victory last night!

Now watching more tennis before going to the allotment in between matches.
