Lunch to go...

As part of the course today we examined the effect of exercise on glycemic levels and took a walk in the Brompton cemetery nearby after lunch. It was opened in 1840 as a necessity following a doubling of the population in the previous 30 years. It was laid out by Benjamin Baud around a central avenue leading to the chapel modelled on St Peter's Basilica in Rome. It looks full with gravestones in all directions, some well known names amongst them, but is still open for new burials.
A peaceful and serene place - perfect for lunch and a chat under the greedy eye of a raven...
