The stone wall phenomenon on the Aran Islands always fascinates every time I visit. There is so much stone here that it made sense to remove it from the fields so they could grow grass or crops and use it to build boundaries.

The fields are tiny compared to mainland fields, with maybe a cow or two in each, or a crop of potatoes. Weaving our way around the pathways is a delight as the walls are low and you can see fields for miles around.

Here with S, 'kids' went back yesterday. Hoping for even a little bit of sunshine after 5 days of cloud and chilly breezes.
