A long day today doing a recce up to Aberdeen with a colleague from Historic Scotland. An interesting day though as he pointed out many significant sites on the way there and back that the untrained eye would never spot! Also, part of the reason we went today was to chase a pair of steam trains.
This was the Black Five Lancashire Fusilier crossing the Forth Bridge on its way up to Aberdeen. We saw it cross the Tay Bridge as well, and saw it in the station at Aberdeen. We then chased The Union of South Africa back down to Edinburgh, spotting it near the Girdle Ness Lighthouse and in Cupar before watching it cross the Forth Bridge as well.
A quick look at Blip shows that we weren't the only train spotters out and about today. Some people got phenominal shots!

I saw a good Blip of it in Dundee station as well that I can't find now!
