The Fuchsia and a Spider's Web
Today we visited the underground Edwardian gardens (grottos, tunnels etc) at Dewstow house in Monmouthshire. They were designed by Pulham and Son for Henry Oakley a keen horticulturist and wealthy bachelor. When he died without any heirs the gardens were filled in and returned to pasture. They were mainly forgotten as no records of their existence remained until the land was purchased by the Harris family in 2000. Since then the renovation has started. These flowers were taken in one of the grottos.
