Unaccustomed As I Am...

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

I had a lovely day today. Well, actually it was f***ing busy. But other than that. Other than the day full of meetings, it was fun.

I met Shenée for lunch, which was a bit much as we also realised we were seeing each other AGAIN in the evening. All the same, she was on great form today and we had a fun time.

We'd both kind of forgotten that tonight was Corrie's fundraiser screening of "Thor: Love and Thunder" for her waka ama club's trip to London next month. So we ended up meeting again at 5:30 for dinner with Mo and Craig before heading into the theatre.

It was a lovely meal at a place called "Salty Pidgin". Which Shenée could not remember.

"Pickled Squid"? "Squirty Pidgin?" she kept asking.

Regardless it was one of those places where the food, the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff made you want to leave a tip.

When we got to the theatre, Corrie had a job for me.

"We're light with people here. Can you do the quiz?"

I'd written a quiz for her but I guess there was no member of the team willing to make an @rse of themselves in public and deliver it.

I AM THAT @RSE.

So I got up and did the thing. It was only short but it seemed to go down well and everyone got in the spirit. You know what I am like, and I'd had a couple of whiskies so I was like that but more so. If you know what I mean.

As for the movie, it was SO much fun. Shenée - not really a Marvel fan - laughed all the way through*. And at one point in the movie they reference the Māori deity Tūmatauenga and the audience went NUTS with cheers.

I love stuff like that.

We came out of the cinema all excited and chatting just like for Doctor Strange. It was a lovely evening, great company and nice food. And I was an @rse.

You can't ask for more than that.

S.

* It was the goats. Those bloody goats. She was CRYING.
